Description
The Thermo Safe Imager 2.0 Blue-Light Transilluminator is designed for viewing stained gels either on the laboratory bench or within a gel documentation system. The device uses an LED light source that passes through a blue filter, emitting a single-intensity signal at approximately 470 nm. This wavelength is ideal for exciting a range of DNA, nucleic acid and protein stains. It also includes a amber filter.
The Safe Imager 2.0 delivers sensitivity levels comparable to those of a standard UV transilluminator. However, it does not emit any harmful UV light and therefore does not require UV-protective equipment during use, making it safer for both the user and the samples.
