Description

The Acquity UPC2 System utilises convergence chromatography, an extension to the capabilities of gas chromatography. It retains and elutes polar compounds last, offering the separation power of normal-phase liquid chromatography (LC) combined with the ease-of-use of reversed-phase LC.

The chromatography system uses green and non-toxic compressed liquid CO2 as the primary mobile phase, allowing precise variation of mobile phase strength, pressure, and temperature. This capability to fine-tune resolving power and selectivity enables better control over analyte retention, facilitating the separation, detection, and quantification of structural analogs, isomers, and enantiomeric and diastereomeric mixtures. These compounds often present significant challenges for separation by other methods.
