Description
The AR-G2 rheometer integrates a combined motor and transducer (CMT) design, traditionally employed in rheometers that function under controlled stress in their default mode. Its lower component remains fixed, while the upper component connects to a shaft that the induction motor rotates, generating the necessary torque. The instrument’s low torque performance largely depends on minimising friction between the stationary and rotating parts. The use of an induction motor enhances rapidity and stability and specifically reduces friction.
The AR-G2 includes advanced features such as drag cup motor technology, an ETC camera viewer, and ethernet connectivity. The key features of this rheometer include Magnetic Thrust Bearing Technology, Nano-Torque Control, and a Peltier Plate. Additional design benefits include reduced friction, wide gaps above and below the thrust plate, and an Angular Position Transducer for enhanced performance.
The AGR2 is suitable for accurately assessing the rheological properties of lightly structured materials, such as shampoos, creams, lotions, and food dressings. A broader torque range, combined with superior low torque operation, enables precise characterisation of these substances.
